Handheld XRF Preliminary Results

These are preliminary results for our handheld XRF vs ICP comparison study where 22 different samples of various grade ranges were analyzed.

Most samples were:

-Dry

-Ground to 80% passing 100 microns

-From various stages of flotation of nickel ore feed, concentrates and tails.

Flotation stages were selected because they are the most homogeneous, “hygienic” samples we could measure precisely. They also offer a very nice range of grades to show best curve-fit for particular mineralization grade-range for field application.

Samples had ICP measurements on 14 elements or more and were compared to various settings of XRF measurements. Main elements focused on were Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu), Cobalt (Co) and Iron (Fe). XRF performance compared to ICP measurements with their respective correlation plots are found below.
